White Ribbon Week
Hutt Valley DHB
Step up, Sign up & Support the ‘Stand Up To Violence’ signature banner.
Throughout this week the 25 metre 2010 Giant White Ribbon will be on display within the main corridor of the hospital.  The banner is a collection of signatures from those adding their names and support to stopping violence in our communities, homes, workplaces and anywhere else that it exists.

Sixty panels were sent around the country prior to White Ribbon Day 2010 to be filled with signatures. The panels were then gathered and sewn into a Giant Ribbon which was installed at Auckland DHB. We invite everyone to sign our sections of fabric adding the HVDHB support to the Giant Ribbon before it gets passed onto the next prominent location. See if you can find the Prime Ministers signature and other dignitaries, it’s there amongst the hundreds of others!

This year the Federation and NZ Police at its national conference in Christchurch are holding an awards night, where acknowledgement of volunteer work for the earthquake will be recognised. We intend to have White ribbon visibility by all members there (Nov 5-6). Every year we have distributed White Ribbons in all regions (Nov 25th).
